UPS Again Achieves Perfect Score on Corporate Equality Index
Atlanta, For the third consecutive year, UPS has achieved a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index.
Each year, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) rates U.S. corporations based on their policies toward lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) employees and consumers.
UPS remains the only company in the Mail and Freight Delivery category to achieve a perfect score of 100. In addition, this distinction earns UPS a place on the HRC Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality list, which only includes companies with a 100% rating.
"UPS is honored to be recognized by the Human Rights Campaign for our support of LGBT employees and business partners" said Amy Whitley, vice president, Human Resources. "UPS is committed to diversity and inclusion and it is our responsibility to create a safe and affirming environment for our employees as well as business opportunities for all suppliers"
The 2010 edition of the Index evaluated 590 companies on a scale from 0 to 100 percent for their non-discrimination policies and practices, including transgender health benefits and domestic partner benefits. This year, 305 businesses achieved top ratings compared to 260 last year.

Founded in 1980, the Human Rights Campaign represents a grassroots force of over 750,000 members and supporters nationwide. As the largest national lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization, HRC envisions an America where LGBT people are ensured their basic equal rights and can be open, honest and safe at home, at work and in the community.
