Driver Education Provides “Parent Tranquilizers”

WEBWIRE

On Wednesday, September 16, 2009 Driver Ed in a Box® announced the newest addition to their nationally acclaimed collision-free at-home driver education course – a “Parent Tranquilizer”.

Patrick Barrett, a leading authority on safe driving practices and founder of Driver Ed in a Box®, www.teendriveamerica.com, stated “One of the most frequent questions parents ask us is ‘Does your product include valium?’. Of course, we cannot provide valium but now we can provide a “Parent Tranquilizer” that reduces the stress of in-vehicle instruction and supervised driving practice with your teen.”

According to Mr. Barrett, the “Parent Tranquilizer” is a unique designer “drug” that is nontoxic and comes only in a red and white capsule form.

He further stated that “The feedback from parents has been phenomenal. There are no adverse side effects with this new “Parent Tranquilizer” and, although we cannot say that it is FDA approved, all field tests have been extremely positive. We have noticed many parents have chuckled just at the sight of our “Parent Tranquilizer” – we consider this a beneficial side effect. Our “Parent Tranquilizer” is available without a prescription, never requires a refill, and is also sold over the counter at our Katy Mills Mall Store in Katy, Texas.

A new Texas state law, House Bill 339, prompted the demand for this product as that legislation went into effect September 1, 2009 requiring driver education students to take an additional twenty hours of in-vehicle training. Many parents have opted to do the training themselves instead of paying for the instruction available at driver education schools.

House Bill 339 was intended to reduce the excessive number of deaths, injuries and crashes caused by teen drivers.

Mr. Barrett has been in the driver training industry since 1974. He is the author of numerous articles and books including the popular Driver Ed in a Box® course which is an at-home driver education course considered to be the ultimate in parent taught driver education. Mr. Barrett has also served as President of the North American Professional Driver Education Association.

What can be done to produce safer new drivers? Driver Ed in a Box®, authored and developed by Patrick Barrett, has produced safer teen drivers since 1997. Less than 2% of the 16 and 17 year old graduates of Driver Ed in a Box® have been involved in a reported collision, according to Texas Department of Public Safety records. All other teens in Texas have a collision rate of over 11% - see the study at www.teendriveamerica.com

A Texas study demonstrates that certain teen drivers have fewer crashes. According to the Texas study, these teens use a product called Driver Ed in a Box®. Mr. Barrett states “Parents who follow the Driver Ed in a Box® program provide nine months to a year of extended supervised training to teach their teen to drive. And fortunately, our product walks you through the complete process step by step.”

According to Mr. Barrett, “A review of the driving records of the graduates of our parent-taught driver education course, Driver Ed in a Box®, shows that our 16 year old graduates have a collision rate of only 1.7%. Studies show that 16 year old drivers in the state of Texas using other methods of driver education have a collision rate of 11.4%.” This study can be viewed at www.drivecollisionfree.com.
