SACRAMENTO, Calif. - As flu season approaches, Health Net Federal Services, LLC, the government operations division of Health Net, Inc. (NYSE:HNT), is proud to expand the provider network as well as promote awareness, education and resources to encourage all TRICARE North Region U.S. service members, retirees and their families to receive the influenza vaccine and practice preventive measures to avoid the virus this season.

“Health Net Federal Services is extremely pleased to provide additional resources that continue to expand the accessibility and convenience of quality care for TRICARE North Region beneficiaries,” said Anthony Koelker, vice president, Provider Relations, Health Net Federal Services. “Particularly during the flu season when a simple and readily available vaccination can serve as an individual’s best line of defense against the influenza virus.”

TRICARE North Region beneficiaries may receive the influenza vaccine at no cost from their Primary Care Manager (PCM), local Military Treatment Facility (MTF) or at one of more than 1,000 Convenient Care or Urgent Care Clinics in Health Net’s TRICARE provider network.

In addition, Health Net Federal Services announced today additional civilian Convenient Care and Urgent Care Clinics added to its TRICARE provider network. These clinics, usually located in high-traffic, retail outlets provide TRICARE North Region service members, retirees and their families with easy access to care seven days a week that include extended hours and no appointments necessary. Beneficiaries can receive treatment for minor illnesses such as sore throats, earaches and upper respiratory infections, and preventive care services including limited physical exams, flu vaccines and other immunizations.

All TRICARE beneficiaries will enjoy no copayments or cost-shares for flu vaccines when received at one of these clinics, an MTF or from their PCM. Additionally, flu vaccines are considered preventive care and do not require a referral from a PCM.
