Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) Center Will Assist Customers with Implementation of Custom ASICs

RADECS CONFERENCE .- Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today announced it has expanded its design center in Prague, Czech Republic with Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) designers to support the growing European Space Microelectronics design business.

“The Honeywell ASIC design center in Europe will provide timely design engineering and application support to our expanding international customer base,” said Keith Nootbaar, Sr. Director Honeywell Space, Missiles & Munitions Microelectronics & Precision Sensors. “This is the first Honeywell design center outside of the United States to provide that level of support for space-related microelectronics customers.”

Honeywell’s European design center has the capability to provide customer design engineering as well as ASIC and FPGA design capabilities. It can support HX2000, HX3000 and HX5000 ASIC designs. These products are radiation hardened standard cell arrays typically used for space applications where radiation in orbit can cause disruptions or damage to sensitive electronic circuitry.

Honeywell’s radiation hardened electronics products and technology provide aerospace system and electrical designers a strategically hardened family of products to increase performance, reduce risks and ensure mission success in space and in other radiation prone environments. From high speed communications networks in space platforms and payloads, to ground network systems, Honeywell’s family of memories, processors and other Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) technology can enable optimized systems performance and reduced power.

Honeywell offers a complete range of microelectronics services in engineering, design, fabrication, and post production services to meet the highest reliability requirements for commercial space and military aerospace programs, from turnkey design and manufacture of microcircuit requirements to the customer’s preferred level of design contribution.

Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Honeywell’s aerospace business is a leading global provider of integrated avionics, engines, systems and service solutions for aircraft manufacturers, airlines, business and general aviation, military, space and airport operations.
