RACINE, Wis.– For the seventh year in a row, SC Johnson has earned a perfect score of 100 percent on the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Corporate Equality Index. The HRC Corporate Equality Index rates companies on their fair treatment of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees, consumers and investors. Ratings are given on a scale of 0 to 100.

“As a family company, SC Johnson is committed to maintaining a culture where our people are free to do their best work,” said Chairman and CEO Fisk Johnson. “We are thrilled to be recognized for our efforts to sustain an environment where people feel comfortable coming to work every day, regardless of background. ’Mutual respect’ and ’understanding’ are fundamental principles behind the way we conduct ourselves and treat our people.”

The HRC is the nation’s largest advocacy group for gay, bisexual, transgendered and lesbian Americans. The Corporate Equality Index rated an unprecedented number of companies this year – a total of 590. SC Johnson was one of 305 companies to receive a top rating of 100 percent.

“People do their best work when they are free to be themselves,” said Maria L. Campbell, Director of Diversity. “At SC Johnson, we believe diversity is an asset to our business and contributes to our overall success. We have more to build on when our people can share their unique experiences and diverse backgrounds.”
