New Matrox DSX Developer Products to be Demonstrated at IBC 2009

WEBWIRE

IBC 2009 – Amsterdam . — Matrox® Video Products Group today announced immediate full-production availability of four new products in the Matrox DSX line of developer products that will be demonstrated at IBC 2009 on stand 7.B29.
Matrox X.mio2 Server – Multi-Channel Multi-Format Conversion Card

The new X.mio2 Server platform features realtime multi-channel upscaling, cross-scaling and downscaling with de-interlacing capabilities. This latest addition to the Matrox X.mio2 family lets OEM partners create complete workflow solutions that resolve resolution and frame rate mismatches between legacy archives and HD broadcast requirements without resorting to format conversion tools. The high-quality hardware-based scaling engine onboard X.mio2 Server lets users seamlessly output HD or SD no matter what formats are input or contained in a playlist. For example, if 720p output is needed, the X.mio2 Server card will upscale SD footage, cross convert amongst different frame rates, and downscale from 1080i to 720p in realtime.
Matrox X.264 – Faster than Realtime HD/SD H.264 Encoding Card

The high quality at low bit rates offered by H.264 compression has created many exciting opportunities in contribution, delivery, and distribution. In the broadcast market space opportunities in archiving, transcoding, and content repurposing abound. The competitively priced Matrox X.264 coprocessor board lets OEM partners capitalize on this emerging market. It features a hardware codec that provides faster than realtime H.264 encoding of SD or HD video as well as custom resolutions for mobile devices and webcasting. In applications where multi-stream encoding is needed, multiple X.264 cards can reside in the same system.
Matrox X.RIO – Reconfigurable I/O Expansion Module for X.mio2

The X.RIO module expands the capabilities of X.mio2-based systems by providing four I/Os that can be configured in the field by the user as 4 inputs, 4 outputs, or 2 inputs/2 outputs. Not only does the reconfigurability offer versatile user functionality, it greatly simplifies inventory management as well.
Matrox DSX.LE2/CG – Affordable SD/HD CG Platform

DSXLE2/CG is a single-channel SD/HD PCIe card that lets OEM partners build mid-range broadcast graphics solutions with high-value feature sets at inexpensive price points. DSXLE2/CG is available in different configurations featuring a live input, fill and key output, color space conversion, and an onboard live mixer.
