The FlyLady Brings Her Buzz to Boomer Diva Nation Conference

She’s known as the “FlyLady” to more than 500 thousand members of her online Yahoo Group. Her “get organized” messages are positive and powerful and she will share some of that inspiration at the Women in Business Summit October 15-18 in Raleigh, N.C.

Marla “FlyLady” Cilley will serve as Keynote Speaker for the VIP Luncheon on Friday, October 16 and take part as a member of the first-ever all women’s social media summit panel on Saturday, October 17. The second annual conference is hosted by Boomer Diva Nation, LLC—an organization created to promote the advancement of professional and personal skills, education and health of women over 40. BDN Founder Beverly Mahone says, “We are delighted and honored to have the FlyLady joining us this year. Her message is all about getting organized and one of the things we know, as women in business, is you must have some organizational skills if you want to be successful We know her message will resonate with the attendees"

The FlyLady will join other women from North Carolina and around the country for a weekend of education, empowerment and entertainment. Mahone says they want the spotlight to shine brightly on women in business---especially small business owners because they are the ones who have made and continue to make many sacrifices to keep their businesses and personal lives afloat.

In addition to the educational seminars, there will also be a first-ever all women’s social media summit. “We felt it was really important to add this component to the conference because of the popularity of online social networking, says Mahone. “It’s a well known fact that men network differently than women so we put together an all female panel to discuss what works for women and what we need to do to leverage our positions on places like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, MySpace, etc.”

On the fun side, there will be a What Not to Wear Fashion Show to show women what’s NOT hot after 40 and a trivia pursuit contest between women of the different generations. There will also be musical and comedy entertainment. The highlight of the weekend will be the Over 40 Pa-jamming Party and karaoke contest.

All participants will receive a Divine-ly Diva-licious gift bag with donated items valued at several hundred dollars. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the American Heart Association and a local women’s group.
