Qatar Orphan Foundation Honors Citi for Training & Sponsorship Efforts

Doha, Qatar – Dhreima, the Qatar Orphan Foundation, recently presented a recognition award to Citibank N.A. Qatar for contributing to a summer camp for teaching the English language. The camp was held July 7 through Aug. 3.

The bank was one of the sponsors of the closing reception, which was held Aug. 4 at the Grand Regency Hotel in Doha. Mr. Ehab Hafazalla, Corporate Bank Head at Citi Qatar, received the award.

In September 2008, Citi sponsored the launch of the “ICDL Certificate in Computing for Qatari Orphans,” a training program for orphans, at Dhreima Foundation. The program offers 40 boys and girls quality, life-long vocational and entrepreneurship training in the IT sector to meet current and future employment requirements. It provides computer training under the globally recognized International Computer Driver License (ICDL) certification program.

Dhreima was launched in 2003 under the kind auspices of Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Misnad, Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs. It provides accommodation, education, legal and specialized technical services to the beneficiaries under its care. Dhreima is based in the city of Doha, and operates within the State of Qatar.
