Football Betting - NFL Pre-Season Week 2

WEBWIRE

Betdigest.com – Football betting for the NFL pre-season is in full swing for this weekend. Starting off with four games Thursday featuring a re-match of the 2009 Superbowl between Arizona Cardinals against Pittsburgh Steelers, four games on Friday, six games on Saturday, and 2 games on Monday but there will be no games play on Sunday which are traditionally play during the regular season.

All teams will try to evaluate in coming rookies and fine tuning the veterans for the next four weeks of pre-season. There are several games in which many bettors are eyeing for this weekend. Of which, couples games are stand out in my betting book are the NFC North Division Champions Minnesota Vikings (2008, 10-5) against the AFC Wild Card Indianapolis Colts (2008, 12-4) and the 2008 NFC Wild Card Atlanta Falcons (2008, 11-5) against a first winless regular season Detroit Lions (2008, 0-16).

As most people will enjoy the 2008 Superbowl re-match, football betting fans will be focusing on the match-up between Minnesota Vikings and Indianapolis Colts on Friday. Among the noticeable rookies in the game are first round draft pick WR Percy Harvin out of Florida for the Vikings and first round draft pick RB Donald Brown out of Connecticut for the Colts, the Viking’s offense will be more of a threat to the opposing team with the addition of rookie WR Percy Harvin. Addition of rookie WR on offense, Viking’s cornerbacks are among the best in the league with veteran Antoine Winfield, coming off his first ProBowl season, and Cedric Griffin will give stability to the position which make Viking’s defense tougher for opposing receiver to score on. For Colts, many veteran players will see limited playing time and mostly incoming rookies will be on the field for first year head coach to evaluate. First game of the pre-season for both teams, I will be enjoying the Vikings reserved and rookies players compete to make the roster for Minnesota this year and so are many of Vietbet.com members.

Teams Point Spread Total Moneyline
Minnesota Vikings -1.5 35 -135
Indianapolis Colts +1.5 +115

Another game which is on my football betting watch list for the weekend is the match-up between the Atlanta Falcons and the Detroit Lions. Even though the Falcons made the playoffs last year, they needed to improve on their defense and with several draft picks going to the defensive team, we will see a much improved team from Atlanta this season. First round draft pick DT Peria Jerry out of Mississippi for Atlanta, first round draft pick QB Matthew Stafford of UGA, and TE Brandon Pettigrew of Oklahoma State are among players for the game on Saturday in Michigan. Although, the Detroit Lions set the record for not winning any games during the regular season, there were several games which they could have won but managed to lost at the end of regulation. I don’t see that will happened here on Saturday but will see a much improve team for this upcoming regular season.

Vietbet.com offers many alternate lines for this game and all of NFL games this pre-season and regular season games online for seasonal bettors and for the love-of-the-game bettors.
