Dropbox Ventures: An update on our latest investments

Dropbox began as a startup with a simple idea that grew into a service used by hundreds of millions of people around the world. As a founder-led company, we have a unique perspective on what startups need to grow and make an impact. That’s why we recently launched Dropbox Ventures, a $50 million initiative to invest in startups that are building the next generation of AI-powered apps and tools.

Announcing investments in Bardeen and LightBeam.ai

Since our launch, we’ve welcomed Aug X Labs and LlamaIndex to the Dropbox Ventures portfolio. We’re excited to share two additional recent investments we made in Bardeen and LightBeam.ai. 

Bardeen is a leading AI workflow automation tool that streamlines manual tasks to help people save time and focus on the work that matters most. Bardeen’s web-based application seamlessly integrates with popular productivity platforms like Dropbox, enabling people to automate repetitive tasks without needing any coding knowledge. Bardeen shares Dropbox’s vision of using AI to help people become more productive and work smarter, and we’re thrilled to explore additional collaboration opportunities with the team moving forward. 

LightBeam.ai specializes in data discovery and governance, offering a comprehensive platform that integrates sensitive data cataloging, control, and compliance. The combination of LightBeam’s integrated platform, its AI-powered data discovery tools, and its ability to ingest and classify both structured and unstructured data, uniquely positions them to be a leading player in the data governance space. Trust and privacy are core to everything we do at Dropbox, and we’re excited to support LightBeam’s mission of helping customers understand and securely manage their data footprints.
