Laurie Trachta, an Author and Educator, Offers Parents a Framework for Explaining Loss to their Children

Laurie Trachta, a retired teacher with a BA in education and an MA in school counseling, looks into her own experience and knowledge to assist parents and relieve stress when the inevitable comes. She presents her book, “Can the Sad Come Out?” a heartfelt narrative that gives parents and guardians the tools they need to talk with their children about tough but vital topics like why living things have to die.
 
In the book, Laurie gives parents and adults who are dealing with this difficult situation a sense of comfort through compassionate explanation and engaging illustrations. It answers the question: Why do living things have to die? What happens to our bodies when we die? How do we get to heaven when we die? Will I ever feel happy again?
