Call for media: media accreditation for Crew-3 launch with Matthias Maurer

This is Matthias’s first mission to the Space Station. He will fly on SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft and will serve as a mission specialist alongside NASA astronauts Raja Chari, mission commander, Tom Marshburn, pilot, and Kayla Barron, also mission specialist. 

The launch, on a Falcon 9 rocket, is targeted for no earlier than Sunday, 31 October, from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. 

This is a scheduled long-duration mission on board the Space Station. The Crew-3 astronauts plan to arrive at the Station to overlap with Crew-2, which includes ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet, who has been on the Station since April 2021. The return of Crew-2 is scheduled early-to-mid November.

Because of the coronavirus pandemic, ESA will not be organising a media trip on this occasion. However, a limited number of international media are welcome to attend the launch on 31 October. Media accreditation and any questions should be directed to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.

Media accreditation deadlines for Crew-3 are as follows (all times Central European Summer Time):

• International media without US citizenship must apply by 22:00 CEST, Sunday 26 September.
• US media must apply by 22:00 CEST, Sunday 3 October.
