GradGuard Adds Diverse Higher Education Experience to Serve its Rapidly Growing Network of Colleges and Universities

GradGuard™, an authority at designing and implementing student benefit programs that help schools to attract and retain students, is pleased to announce the appointment of three new team members with diverse higher education experience that will help to shape its growing set of insurance programs to colleges and universities.

• Nelly Jane Chávez is now the Director of Customer Experience and Operations. In this role, she will lead our agency operations and drive member success.  Her knowledge of higher education is extensive. She most recently served as the Associate Director of Residence Life at Arizona State University, where Nelly oversaw projects, initiatives, operations, crisis response, and student engagement; serving over 16,000 students. Prior to working at ASU, Nelly worked at Texas Tech University, Southern Illinois University Carbondale and her alma mater Texas State University-San Marcos.
  
• Seth Westby is now the Assistant Director for Campus Partnerships.  Seth most recently worked in undergraduate admissions at the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota.  During his three years working in admissions, he heard directly about the concerns of students and families regarding the risks and worries about investing in a college education.  Seth’s admissions knowledge will provide valuable insight into how providing GradGuard’s student benefit protections can increase the confidence families have in choosing to enroll in their college or university.
  
• Jeremy Norris is now a Senior Software Engineer.  His recent experience working as part of the technology team at Salem State University will enable him to contribute to the expansion of GradGuard’s eCommerce and student benefit insurance platform.  In particular, Jeremey knows the importance to schools of maintaining high standards when it comes to web accessibility and data security.  His knowledge of the unique needs of the higher education technology ecosystem will also further enable GradGuard to seamlessly integrate GradGuard’s tuition and renters insurance as a value-added benefit for students.

These new team members join Wimer Alberto, Jules Breaux and Derrick Shy, all of whom have experience in higher education. In total, the GradGuard team has worked more than 30 years on campus and at all types of institutions including – private & public, small & large and rural & urban institutions.
