EMSL’s Fort Lauderdale Laboratory Offers Workshop with 7 CEU’s Approved by Florida DBPR

EMSL Analytical, Inc. is hosting its Assessing the Built Environment for Water Damage and Fungal Growth Workshop this May in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

EMSL Analytical, Inc. is hosting an Assessing the Built Environment for Water Damage and Fungal Growth Workshop on June 20th in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Registration will begin at 8:00 AM followed by the training from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. This workshop is approved for 7.0 DBPR MRS Credits, which can be applied toward renewal of Mold Remediator and Mold Assessor Licenses. This training is also ABIH and ACAC compliant.

Enviro Team North America’s Jason Popovic, CIE, and Patrick O’Donnell, CIEC, will be instructing this course that features three sessions. Session one will cover water intrusion, which begins with an introduction to the IIRC S 500 Reference Guide followed by water microbiology and health concerns with exposure to contaminants. This session also provides information on how water affects various building products and ASTM Standards.

The second session will focus on water vapor. Following water vapor transmission, this section will cover source identification, water vapor pathways and an introduction to applicable ASHRAE, ASTM as well as US Army Corp of Engineers Standards. The final session will cover ASTM recommended fungal assessment report preparation leaving attendees with a better understanding of inspection results, observations and limitations along with mandatory information regarding a variety of methods.
