Christie’s spring sale Interiors: New York Visionstotaled $1,782,438 with 99% sold by lot and 97% sold by value. Strong prices were realized across lots offered from the three collections of celebrated style icons including The Estate of Kenneth Jay LaneThe Collection of Arnold Scaasi and Parker Ladd, and Robert Couturier: Elements of Style, and additionally jewellery offered from the Kenneth Jay Lane, Inc. Archives was 100% sold.

 The top lot of the sale was A Patinated Bronze Ecorche Figure, from The Estate of Kenneth Jay Lane, which realized $87,500, over 50 times its low estimate. There was active participation across all sales channels and robust global participation with registered bidders represented from 34 countries and five continents.

 THE ESTATE OF KENNETH JAY LANE | 100% SOLD BY LOT

 The Estate of Kenneth Jay Lane totaled $690,875, more than doubling the collection’s low estimate, with 100% sold by lot. Many lots greatly exceeded expectations, including the collection’s top lot A Patinated Bronze Ecorche Figure, which realized $87,500, against a low estimate of $1,500. Strong results were realized for the selection of Orientalist paintings, led by Georges Jules Victor Clairin (1843-1919),The Sultan’s favorites, painted in 1875, which sold for $32,500, more than doubling its low estimate. Proceeds from the collection’s sale will benefit WNET New York Public Media.

 THE COLLECTION OF ARNOLD SCAASI AND PARKER LADD | 98% SOLD BY LOT

 The Collection of Arnold Scaasi and Parker Ladd totaled $478,875, surpassing initial estimates, with 98% sold by lot. The top lot of the collection was Igor Mitoraj’s Sonno Tatuato, executed in 2002, which realized $81,250. Other notable results included Paul Jenkins, Phenomena X Marks, which realized $41,250, more than four times its low estimate; A Set of Eight Italian Scarlet and Gilt-Japanned Side Chairs, which realized $37,500; and Pedro Friedeberg’s Hand Chair (a pair), which realized $18,750.

 ROBERT COUTURIER: ELEMENTS OF STYLE | 99% SOLD BY LOT

 Robert Couturier: Elements of Style totaled $593,500 with 99% sold by lot. The top lot of the collection the Jacques Adnet and Maurice Sauvin dining table, circa 1948, which realized $40,000doubling its low estimate. Strong prices were achieved for the selection of 20th century photographs, including Karen Knorr’s The Avatars of Devi, Zanana, Samode Palace, 2008, which sold for $21,250 against a low estimate of $6,000; pieces of 19th and 20th century design, including Christophe Côme’s bench of 2011, which realized $16,250, more than three times its low estimate.
