“Moffatt’s multifaceted survey is astonishingly ambitious, and the author’s erudition is both broad and deep,” - Kirkus Review

The Right Hand of God’ is a concise conjunction of history, science, and religion that many people are looking for.” This quote by Nelda Moffatt’s granddaughter Laura Davis Smith sums up “The Right Hand of God.” The book presents a timeline of history and the Bible from creation through the twentieth century. Her chart, the Rising Spiral of Civilizations, correlates events in the Bible with seven civilizations, plus other civilizations, in a one-page summary of the world.

The seven civilizations brought Judeo-Christianity to the Reformation, after Gothic thinkers laid steps to reform.  In 1517, Martin Luther climbed the steps and crossed the threshold of Reform. This started three thrusts of development, represented by three men: Galileo for science and technology, Columbus for socio-political in the US, and Luther for thinking persons via the “priesthood of believers.”

In 500 years, the first two were fulfilled by new science and by the US Declaration of Independence. Thinking individuals have not yet emerged. In the chaos of the 20th century, Americans became anti-intellectual. In 2017, we must begin putting our world, ideas, and individuals together in the Age of Integrity.

“Moffatt’s multifaceted survey is astonishingly ambitious, and the author’s erudition is both broad and deep,” Kirkus Reviews says.
