Logic PD’s Director of Software Strategy to Speak at DESIGN West

MINNEAPOLIS – March 21, 2012 — Logic PD’s director of software strategy, Mark Benson, is presenting at DESIGN West being held next week at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose. During the four-day conference, Logic PD will demonstrate its connectivity technology that includes Catalyst™, and the company will introduce its DM3730 Torpedo + Wireless SOM – both of which will be showcased in booth #1042, which is located in the M2M Zone at the conference.
 
On March 27 at 2 p.m. PT, Benson will present, “Multicore Architectural Decomposition Methods for Low-Power Symmetric and Asymmetric Multi-Processing.” This session will explore intersecting variables of performance, power and complexity, and how these variables dynamically change in a multicore embedded environment. The primary focus of this presentation is to delineate tools and techniques for managing homogeneous and heterogeneous embedded cores through intelligent architectural decomposition, particularly when low-power design is a primary constraint.

About the Speaker
Mark Benson is the director of software strategy at Logic PD. Mr. Benson is responsible for leading product software development, championing the software aspects of the technology roadmap and setting the overall software strategy for the company. Since joining Logic PD in October 2000, Mr. Benson has led highly-creative and productive multi-discipline (industrial design, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, manufacturing) teams in the development of advanced embedded product designs for the industrial, medical, aerospace, military and consumer industries. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Bethel University and a master’s degree in software engineering from the University of Minnesota.
