Automated Zero-D System Treats Wash Down Wastewater for Reuse

February, 2009 – Santa Barbara, CA - Natural Systems, a 15 year old company based in Santa Barbara, CA, is distributing a new fully automated wastewater treatment system called Zero-D for car and truck washing facilities that completely eliminates the need for disposal and associated fees and allows reuse of the waste water within the facility.

CEO James Smallwood says, “Car and truck washing facilities will now be able to treat and reuse their dirty wash down wastewater instead of having to discharge it, or having it pollute the environment in addition to eliminating discharge fees and permit requirements forever”

The Zero-D wastewater treatment and recycling system uses a proven and highly effective non-chemical electro-coagulation method eliminates heavy metals, oil and grease, TSS, COD, BOD, TDS, pesticides, herbicides, nitrates, e.coli, and other contaminants.

One of the primary components of the system is a fully automated Electrocoagulation unit, a technology that uses electricity to “shock” the waste water, breaking molecular bonds that bind contaminants to the H2O, allowing easy filtration and producing clean water for reuse.

“A further benefit for reducing operating costs” says Smallwood”, is that this process removes the calcium and minerals and acts as a water softener. Therefore, facilities using this system can also eliminate the need for water softeners, another big savings for them.”

The operation of the Zero-D system is simple as pushing one button and the removal process can cost as little as $0.25 cents per 1,000 gallons. Companies like Ahern Rental, Haliburton, BART in San Francisco have been using this method for years now to treat and reuse their shop and truck wash down wastewater, saving them thousands of dollars per year.

The other companies who have installed similar systems over the past 10 years include, Ahern Rental, Sear’s Distribution Center, Brashear’s Auto Auction, and Michigan CAT. Zero-D can also be used at bus washing facilities, airports, waste collection companies, car rental companies, postal delivery companies, farming operations and golf courses; anywhere you want to treat and reuse water.

Smallwood concludes, “Zero-D is a one-of-a-kind, fully automated, reliable, and effective system which not only increases net income for car and truck wash facilities, but will help companies reduce their overall water use and eliminate discharge and discharge fees.
