WEBWIRE

2 February 2006, TietoEnator Telecom Operators AB has started personnel negotiations to reduce a maximum of 130 jobs in Sweden. The company is part of TietoEnator’s business area Telecom & Media and supplies telecom operators with software development, application management and solutions. The company employs approximately 720 people in Sweden.

The adjustments will mainly affect TietoEnator’s site in Stockholm but also to some extend the sites in, Sundsvall, Kalmar and Malmo. The cost of the measures is currently estimated to be EUR 5 million in the first quarter. The adjustments are expected to create savings of approximately EUR 5 million later in 2006.

“We are operating in an intensely competitive market with strong price pressure. In order to remain competitive we need to structure our organisation in a more efficient way,” says Berth-Ola Sundbom, Vice president of TietoEnator Telecom & Media and person responsible for the telecom operator segment.

The negotiations will start immediately and the goal is to finalise them before the end of March 2006.
