WEBWIRE

CHICAGO (March 2007) - The Women’s Treatment Center (TWTC), Chicago’s premier not-for-profit substance treatment facility for women and children, salutes the true stars of their program with their Annual “Meet the Stars” Gala on Thursday, May 3 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the Chicago Hilton & Towers, 720 S. Michigan Avenue. The “Stars” of TWTC are women who have successfully completed treatment and have gone on to create bright new futures for themselves and their families. These remarkable women will receive TWTC’s “Star” award and will share their emotional journey at this heart-felt affair.

The Honorary Chairperson of the Gala is Merri Dee, WGN-TV’s Director of Community Relations; Ms. Dee also serves on TWTC’s Honorary Board of Directors. This sparkling evening of success will include a festive reception, elegant seated dinner as well as live and silent auctions. In addition, the TWTC’s Third Annual Philanthropy “Angel Award,” will be given to Senator Richard J. Durbin and Congressman Rahm Emanuel for their support of the Parents And Children Together (PACT) Program.

Proceeds from the “Meet the Stars” Gala will help support TWTC’s ongoing work for programming benefiting children and the rebuilding of families. These vital initiatives to the center’s ongoing community mission – including the crisis nursery, infant and toddler daycare, as well as the unique parenting program – rely on significant financial support to keep them up and running.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors and entire staff of The Women’s Treatment Center, I am proud to acknowledge the shining lights of our program this year,” says TWTC Executive Director Dr. Jewell Oates, “as well as recognize leaders in our community who represent the values of TWTC and have been instrumental in fostering our continued work to serve the community.”

Individual tickets are $125 and can be purchased by contacting Director of Development Anita Flores at (312) 633-4366 or AFlores@womenstreatmentcenter.org.
