Giving Hope Academy — A Ministry of Goad International — Is Making a Difference

Giving Hope Academy – Life Skills Training
This twelve-week program, for 10- to 14-year old boys and girls, is designed to lay the foundations of basic human values to empower at-risk children to live happy, successful lives as productive members of society.

In Life Skills training, young people learn to set goals, deal with social pressures, make good decisions, develop positive self concepts, resolve conflicts, manage anger, reject self-defeating lifestyles, and much more.

A Success Story
Naye Naye, as she is known by her family nickname, was one of the first girls to attend Goad Ministries’ Hope Academy a year ago. She had physical fights at school and was headed toward suspension when the school sent her to Anger Management Classes. But Naye Naye credits her instruction at Hope Academy with helping her to overcome ‘the root’ of her anger problem. At Goad International’s Giving Hope Academy, she found practical help and real ‘hope’ for a better life. Her attitude and school work began to improve.

This spring, Naye Naye will not only graduate from Giving Hope Academy, she will graduate high school (a feat many in her neighborhood will not accomplish). That isn’t the end. “This is only the beginning for Naye Naye,” says Richard (Rick) Goad.

“This formerly ‘troubled child’ has earned a full scholarship to UCF (University of Central Florida), adds Timothy (Tim) Goad, of Goad International. She plans to graduate from UCF and go to law school. And, she wants to return to Hope Academy to help other kids accomplish what she’s been helped to achieve.
