Dassault Systèmes Releases 26 BPCs for Increased Productivity, Profitability, and Rapid ROI

Paris, France, December 7, 2006 ─ Dassault Systèmes (DS) (Nasdaq: Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA) today announced the third release of its Industry Solutions BPC (Business Process Content) V5, allowing customers of any size to speed industry and scenario specified PLM deployments, without the cost of tailor-made software. The release includes 26 V5 BPCs- products that enable customers to leverage proven industry specific PLM practices and benefit from increased productivity, profitability, and rapid ROI.

“We continue to evolve our Industry Solutions to provide customers with PLM accelerators, which deliver high-quality results with maximum efficiency. A DS Industry Solution offers a complete deployment approach composed of PLM best practice scenarios, BPCs, PLM products (including CAA V5 Partner solutions), and implementation services,” explains Bruno Latchague, executive vice-president, DS Development & Support, Industry Solutions. “We see industry and scenario problems spanning companies of many sizes, so we create BPCs based upon tight collaborations and customer service engagements with industry leaders. The result is then capitalized, industrialized and turned into products. BPCs couple these innovations with proven PLM solutions and allow users to gain rapid ROI.”

“Through a successful collaboration between Dassault Systèmes and DaimlerChrysler, DS adapted and enhanced the key business processes originally developed by DaimlerChrysler to create PowerFeature,” says Klaus Peter Berg, manager, IT Production, DaimlerChrysler AG. “This Industry Solution is a central component of the upcoming CATIA V5 rollout for DaimlerChrysler and its suppliers.” As part of an ongoing strategic relationship, Dassault Systèmes contributes to DaimlerChrysler’s more efficient and profitable supply chain.

This third batch of V5 BPCs includes 26 new or enhanced BPCs built on DS’s V5 PLM solutions platform (CATIA, ENOVIA VPLM and ENOVIA SmarTeam). Highlights include:

* Weight & Balance- Solutions to increase computing speed and ensure product total weight, specifically for aerospace and automotive companies. Customers can easily adjust it to fit needs such as comparing targeted values, imposing values on purchased parts, and computing total product cost. It also lends insight to center of gravity, inertia moment and product, and works with CATIA V5, V4 and ENOVIA VPLM.
* Product Structure Synchronization- Extends collaborative engineering in CATIA V5 and ENOVIA VPLM V4 environments by allowing users to create and synchronize product design work-packages. Facilitates parallel downstream work, such as drawing creation, kinematics studies, etc. Developed as a joint project with PSA Peugeot Citroën.
* Program Management System- An out-of-the box yet customizable, collaborative program management solution based on ENOVIA SmarTeam. Enables storage and management of vast amounts of program-related data, including multiple projects, timelines, tasks, deliverables and resources. Tightly connects them to product and process-related knowledge, such as workflow processes, documents and bills of material (BOMs).
* PowerFeature- Standardizes and automates the PLM process chain using a full feature based part design strategy through integrated processes from design, process planning and manufacturing to quality control across the entire supply chain. Based on key business processes developed in collaboration with DaimlerChrysler for its CATIA V5 supply chain rollout.

The third release of BPC V5 will be available on December 21, 2006.
