New Fishing Regulations to Increase the Size of AirIQ’s Marine Market

TORONTO, ONTARIO – October 13, 2006 – AirIQ Inc. (“AirIQ”) (TSX: IQ), a leader in wireless enabled location-based services, expects to see an increase in the size of its regulated marine market as a result of the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) introduction of a new Gulf Coast fishing regulation for Gulf reef fish. The new rules require fishing vessel owners to install and operate an approved vessel monitoring system (VMS) by December 7, 2006.

The ruling; “…requires a NMFS-approved vessel monitoring system (VMS) on board vessels with Federal commercial permits for Gulf reef fish, including charter vessels/headboats with such commercial permits;”
