Website security expert, Trust Guard announced today that they are releasing their newly revised Business Verified service and trust seal. “In a recent Consumer Reports survey, 95% of the people surveyed said that they wanted access to a website’s business email address, street address and phone number. The problem is that even if you add this information to your website, your visitors have no way of knowing whether or not the information you display is legitimate. This is why it’s important to add a third party Business Verified seal...” Said Dave Brandley, Co-Founder of Trust Guard.

The Better Business Bureau, is regarded as one of the most visible verification services online according to business professionals, their seals are often seen displayed on website home pages with the intent of legitimizing the business. However, in the recent release Trust Guard questioned the functionality of the BBB seals in regard to business owners.

Brandley said, “There are two big differences between our verification seals and the BBB’s seals. First, our service costs about half of what the Better Business Bureau charges per year. Second, our Business Verified service offers Private Dispute Resolution to help customers and business’ solve problems while avoiding harmful public complaints and public humiliation”. According to Brandley, a major problem with the BBB for business owners is that even if a customer dispute is resolved the next day, and/or the business wasn’t at fault, there is no way to clear up the dispute publicly for years. In the online-business world, reputation is everything and the effects of negative press can be disastrous.

Trust Guard has also released a YouTube video along with the launch of their new Business Verification Seals that illustrates the differences between Trust Guard Seals and the Better Business Bureau Seals. The video is a short animated cartoon that takes around one-and-a-half-minutes to watch from beginning to end. The video is currently available for public viewing.
