IDT Recognized for Integrated LCD Display Timing Controller, Power Management and LED Driver Monolithic Mixed-Signal Device

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT®; NASDAQ: IDTI), the Analog and Digital Company™ delivering essential mixed-signal semiconductor solutions, today announced that the IDT VDAP1000 PowerSmart™ Panel Controller has been selected as a finalist for the prestigious Innovation Awards presented by EDN magazine in the application specific standard products (ASSP) category.

“We are pleased that EDN magazine, one of the most prestigious electronic design magazines, has recognized the industry’s first single-chip TCON, power management, and LED driver solution for thin film transistor (TFT) liquid crystal display (LCD) panels,” said Ji Park, vice president and general manager of the Video and Display Operation at IDT. “Our customers appreciate the technological advancement of the IDT VDAP1000 and the cost, power, and space savings that it represents for their designs. We look forward to continuing to develop innovative display and video solutions as a part of our strategy to serve the ongoing needs of our customers.”

The IDT VDAP1000 is the industry’s first monolithic High Voltage (HV) analog and digital total system solution for TFT LCD panels, such as those used in netbooks, notebooks, and tablet PCs. This novel device from IDT integrates a full-function low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) timing controller, power management, and a four-channel LED driver for backlighting. By integrating all of these functions onto a single chip, the IDT VDAP1000 saves power and board space, giving system architects increased design flexibility and reducing bill of materials. In addition, the IDT VDAP1000 can reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI) by enabling spread spectrum technology, improving signal integrity and system performance.

The winners of the EDN Innovation Awards are determined by an online vote. For additional information about the award nomination and to vote for this innovative IDT product, visit http://innovation.edn.com/nomination/vdap1000.
