Intelliden Simplifies Management of SNMP Devices

R-Series® platform upgraded to enable faster and more cost effective management of Simple Network Management Protocol devices

Menlo Park, CA - Intelliden Inc., a leading provider of Intelligent Network Automation solutions that enable organizations to control, manage and scale their networks, today released the latest and most advanced version of its R-Series® platform. The enhanced R-Series v5.4 platform delivers faster time to market, greater control and lower cost of ownership for Intelliden’s customers. Uniquely it provides a new toolkit for customers to rapidly create Intelliden SmartModels™ for Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) based devices in a ‘self care’ mode.

Intelliden’s applications are built upon its patented R-Series platform, which provides intelligent automation, standardization, and scalable device management. It serves as an abstraction layer to the underlying network by translating device information—irrespective of the vendor, type, model and operating system (VTMOS)—into XML based SmartModels. Intelliden SmartModel device drivers contain relevant communications handlers, configuration commands, allowed parameters, inter-relationships, logic and metadata for rendering the user interface.

Intelliden’s R-Series v5.4 platform offers a number of key enhancements to further support the automation requirements of ‘network-driven’ organizations including:

* A new ‘self care’ toolkit for customers to rapidly create and deploy SmartModel drivers for SNMP-based devices

* The ability to retrieve specific attributes of SNMP-based devices and perform actions against them e.g. policy checks

* Improved management of SmartModel device drivers including a more efficient mechanism for retrieving, visualizing and manipulating SNMP Management Information Base (MIB) metadata, attributes and variables.
