Q-Track Launches Unique Technology for Emergency Responders

Q-Track Corporation, Inc. (Q-Track) today launched the “Realistic, Accurate Dosimulation” – Q-Rad tool to provide unprecedented realism and fidelity in emergency responder radiation training. Q-Rad employs a Real-Time Location System (RTLS) to track simulated radiation sources and simulated radiation dosimeters. The resulting “Dosimulation” System emulates the behavior of real sources and dosimeters, providing a valuable training tool for emergency responders and other workers who must perform essential duties while avoiding unnecessary exposure to radiation.

The first use of the system is at Nuclear and Radiological Training Center located at Y-12 in Oak Ridge, TN which provides response training for radiological events and provides an opportunity for the security forces, health and public safety personnel. Q-Track is committed to providing state-of-the-art products which enhance our nation’s preparedness in responding to emergencies related to terrorist incidents, natural disasters, and other health and security threats.

Q-Track’s NFER® Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS) employ low-frequency, long-wavelength signals to achieve accurate location information in challenging environments as often encountered by emergency responders.
