Secure content management company reports US success at RSA 2006

Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions that protect against viruses, Trojans, worms, spyware, hacker attacks and spam, has showed increased momentum in the North American market through 2005. Kaspersky Lab showcased its latest solutions and products at the world’s largest information security conference, RSA, which was held February 13 to 17, 2006, at the McEnergy Convention Center in San Jose, CA. Participants at this year’s conference included 275 of the world’s largest IT companies and over 14,000 IT specialists.

Since launching in the US in February 2005, Kaspersky Lab has added 20 new partners to its roster, including leading providers including: FrontBridge Technologies, a subsidiary of Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT); Juniper (Nasdaq: JNPR); Bluecoat (Nasdaq: BCSI); and Clearswift. They join existing OEM security partners including Borderware, Tumbleweed (Nasdaq: TMW), MailFrontier, and CommuniGate Systems, among others.

During the conference, Eugene Kaspersky, founder and head of antivirus research at Kaspersky Lab, highlighted the threat of profit-driven Internet crime in a breakfast seminar hosted by Silicon Valley’s premier business and technology forum, the Churchill Club, alongside New York Times’ correspondent John Markoff.

“Today’s Internet security issues are no longer confined to vigilante hackers looking to make a name for themselves or simply cause major glitches in corporate systems,” Kaspersky said. “We are entering the age of profit-driven Internet thieves, gang-like groups that are waging a turf war for control of the world’s desktops and computing devices. It is our job to stay one step ahead of them and prevent them from winning this war.”

One of the principal reasons for the success of Kaspersky Lab’s OEM program in the US is the advanced technology and high quality of the company’s products, which helps Kaspersky Lab partners to significantly improve the effectiveness of their own information security solutions. By using technologies that are peerless in the global market, both in terms of malicious code detection rates and in terms of speed of response to new threats, Kaspersky Lab and its partners outpace the competition.

“Our expanding partner program clearly demonstrates that leading IT players value Kaspersky Lab’s ability to improve their effectiveness in responding to and dealing with malware. Our technology significantly improves their effectiveness,” emphasized Vitaly Bezrodnykh, Kaspersky Lab director for business development. “Kaspersky Lab is a leader in the information security market because it intensively develops new technologies and methods for combating electronic threats. We are confident that we will continue to develop new OEM agreements with major US IT companies in the future.”

Kaspersky Lab is an acknowledged leader in the OEM secure content management solutions market. More than 80 leading participants of the world’s IT industry use Kaspersky Lab technologies to protect users against the entire range of electronic threats. The company provides its technology partners with solutions that are truly effective and support such popular platforms as Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris, Novell, Lotus, Windows CE/Windows Mobile, Symbian OS and Palm OS, as well as XScale (ARM) and the packet-level data-flow scanning technology. Other options offered by to Kaspersky Lab’s OEM partners include joint development of software solutions, technology licensing and rebranding, as well as the development of customized products based on partner requirements.
