Bids Skyrocket for Michael Jackson “Award” Selling On Ebay.


A Platinum Award for Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” Album from the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) has been posted to sell on eBay. Bidding currently exceeds $50,000.

The award is claimed (by the seller) to have been from Epic Records for their participation in the sale of 20 million copies. The auction has attracted over 8,100 visitors wanting to took a closer look at the unique article of music history.

According to James Massey, publisher of, a website which tracks top auction items selling on eBay. “With the passing of Michael, it appears both his fans and (Jackson) memorabilia sellers are coming out in droves to buy and sell. There’s also a (Jackson) signed Fedora (Hat) selling on eBay with bids currently exceeding $8,000.”
