Erlangen, Germany, In the U.S., Siemens’ Energy Sector is investing a further USD 50 million in climate-protecting energy technology. Over the next five years, the company intends to expand the manufacture of energy-efficient power plant generators as well as service business for steam turbines and generators in Charlotte, North Carolina. The company plans to build a 75,000-square-foot office facility adjacent to its 550,000-square-foot manufacturing plant. Over the next five years, the company expects to create more than 220 new jobs at this location. Siemens currently has 780 employees in Charlotte.
“Our location in Charlotte is a critical part of Siemens Energy global manufacturing network, serving not only the U.S. but other regions in the Americas as well,” said Michael Suess, CEO of the Siemens Energy Fossil Power Division. “We have manufacturing locations strategically positioned all over the world in order to best serve our customers with solutions that are delivered more quickly and cost efficiently.” The U.S. is one of Siemens’ largest markets.
