Largest Deployment of AdvanTraq™ GPS Personnel Locators Integrated with Mobile Tactical Collaboration System™ to Secure Multiple Simultaneous Steelers Fan Celebration Areas

Pittsburgh, PA, and Vienna, VA, February 2, 2009 – Ordia Solutions, the leading provider of integrated real-time command and control systems for first responders and their chain of command, announces the successful deployment of Mobile Tactical Collaboration System™ (MTCS) and over sixty AdvanTraq™ GPS personnel locators by the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police (PBP) to secure several areas of Pittsburgh that experienced spontaneous celebrations in the aftermath of the Steelers’ sixth National Football League championship victory.

Based on its experience during the Super Bowl XL celebrations in 2006, PBP organized three area commands covering large portions of the Southside, Oakland, and Northshore Downtown neighborhoods. “The contrast between 2006 and 2009 in our ability to brief partner agencies and the chain of command, to monitor our security operations across the multiple simultaneous Super Bowl celebration areas, and to effectively execute tactical decisions could not have been sharper” said Scott Schubert, Commander, Special Deployment Division and Zone Six, Pittsburgh Bureau of Police. “In 2006 we relied on sporadic radio traffic to gain limited situational awareness. Last night and this morning, the Ordia Solutions technologies empowered our commanders with near total visibility of their respective operations, and as circumstances changed, the system provided timely tactical information, enabling us to make the right decisions, issue and synchronize the correct force maneuvering commands, all in real-time.”

Workspaces were developed for each command, team leaders were assigned AdvanTraq™ GPS units. An all-inclusive workspace showed higher command total visibility of all operations simultaneously. Officer safety was enhanced as the lone PBP officer injured was quickly located and identified by an MTCS operator and a team leader’s AdvanTraq GPS.

“In recent months, the management of multiple coordinated simultaneous special operations has become an emerging proficiency imperative for law enforcement,” said Joe E. Ordia, Chairman and CEO, Ordia Solutions. “The significant operational and officer safety benefits experienced by PBP demonstrated that with the right, tightly integrated system, commanders can plan, manage, and execute multiple simultaneous responses effectively and efficiently, with full operational and command and control situational awareness, and thereby accelerating the multiple decision-action cycles that are required in these scenarios.”
