EMSL Westmont NJ Laboratory Passes CDC Legionella Proficiency Test
EMSL Analytical Inc., a leading provider of advanced environmental laboratory services nationwide, received passing Legionella results as part of the US Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) ELITE pilot proficiency test program for Legionella.
“As part of an ongoing program to enhance our Quality Control, we were pleased to be asked by CDC to participate in this new program for Legionella proficiency testing” said Diane Miskowski, MPH, Business Development Director.
“This type of proficiency testing is extremely important in our industry. It is the first of its kind in the United States to use known proficiency samples to specifically grade laboratories for correctly identifying, quantifying, and serotyping Legionella samples. We were very pleased to learn from CDC that we passed with flying colors on both rounds of the proficiency test” she explained.
EMSL also performs Legionella testing in its New York City, Houston, and South Pasedena, CA lab locations for such clients as the Veterans Administration hospital system, water treatment consultants, refineries, multi-national industries, hospitals, rehabilitation and nursing homes, and state and county health departments.
