Why are so many conservative parents raising liberal children?

Los Angeles, CA (Nov. 18, 2008) -- Why are so many conservative parents raising liberal children? According to Reb Bradley, the author of “Born Liberal, Raised Right: How to Rescue America from Moral Decline – One Family at a Time” from WND Books (November 18, 2008, ISBN 978-1-935071-00-6) and father of 6, the answer is simple – and of great concern to anyone who loves this country.

Explains Bradley, “By nature we are all born liberal. For children to grow into conservatives capable of self-governance, we need to train them against their nature.” Modern parents, in their reluctance to “inhibit” their children by correcting their immature behavior, are in fact doing them and the nation a grave disservice.

“To be politically liberal is to be freed from restraints, with an evolving basis for values,” Bradley asserts. Put bluntly, this means that liberals have no respect for the Constitution and don’t feel bound by the clear intent of America’s Founding Fathers. And could there be a more precise description of Barack Obama – a professor of constitutional law who clearly disdains the Constitution?

George Washington said America’s government could never degenerate into any sort of despotic or oppressive form as long as there remains virtue among the people. As Reb Bradley notes, “It’s no coincidence that as our nation becomes both more permissive and more promiscuous, the federal government has become ever bigger and more oppressive. And the worst is yet to come, now that Obama is here to ‘rule’ us, in the words of his own advisors.”

As “Born Liberal, Raised Right” proves, almost all of our societal ills these days are manifestations of people who never grew up and never matured. Yes, families headed by conservatives are growing at a far faster rate than the families of liberals, who are quick to choose abortion over the responsibilities of child-rearing. Even so, liberalism is the default position for young children. If they are not trained out of it, they’ll grow up liberal anyway, no matter how they may define themselves politically.

The bottom line? “Liberals are like teenagers whose will-to-be-gratified was never subdued, and now cannot grasp the simple logic of what is being said to them,” Bradley states. "They are so emotionally obsessed with getting what their hearts want that they are unwilling to listen to reason. That is why liberals resort to personal attacks, name-calling, accusing, yelling, discrediting, or changing the subject. And that is why they use inflammatory and emotionally charged words like ’intolerant,’ ’hateful’ and ’racist.’ Desperation ensues when passion rules. When passion rules, logic goes out the window.”

As a result, Bradley says, “America is being governed by adults still in their terrible twos, with Barack Obama a prime example. He has fooled people on a basic, emotional level. And when people can’t see beyond their emotions, they are immature and so incapable of the kind of self-government that has been the bedrock of America’s freedom for the last two centuries.”
