KFVE The Home Team partners will Hawaii IPTV LLC to broadcast UH sports live outside of Hawaii via the internet


HONOLULU, HI – August 19 – KFVE (K5 The Home Team) has signed a multi year contract with Hawaii IPTV LLC (, Hawaii’s global internet protocol television network. This agreement allows Hawaii IPTV LLC to broadcast select home UH sports live and on demand to its worldwide subscriber base beginning in the upcoming 2008 to 2009 season. With more than 60 games planned to be aired, including wahine and men’s volleyball and basketball, baseball, softball, soccer and Warrior football, Hawaii IPTV subscribers will be able to view UH sporting events from anywhere in the world outside of Hawaii on their televisions.

It’s a wonderful opportunity, through Hawaii IPTV, to be able to give our athletes and athletic programs this kind of exposure outside of the state,” stated John Fink, General Manager of KHNL and KFVE. The service allows local programming to reach beyond traditional broadcast boundaries which were formerly limited by predetermined coverage areas. Subscribers can view Hawaii broadcasts via the internet direct to their TV. Since the launch of Hawaii IPTV LLC in 2007, the demand for UH sports has been at the top of the list for all of its subscribers. “UH sports have been something our customers have looked forward to enjoying since we first began our services. Now, they can finally enjoy UH Sports live anywhere they are around the world,” stated Kimberly Dey, Vice President of Hawaii IPTV LLC.
