Britvic selects Atos Origin as Strategic Co-sourcing partner for Applications Development and Applications support
To ensure that the right products continue to be delivered to the right place at the right time to meet customer demand
London, 4 August 2008 - Atos Origin, an international IT services company, today announced that it has been awarded a three year contract with Britvic Soft Drinks across Europe to manage the SAP, Siebel and associated systems for all back office functions. The new contract consolidates Britvic’s systems support and development under one provider resulting in reduced costs, improved service and greater efficiencies.
Atos Origin takes over management of the systems applications with immediate effect and will provide support from both the UK and its Indian delivery centres in Mumbai. This model provides easy and convenient access to local expertise while retaining the cost benefits and flexibility of working with an offshore team.
“This new contract forms part of a broader initiative to improve and streamline our back-office functions, so that they can better help us meet our business strategies and objectives,” said Mike Jones, CIO at Britvic. “We believe that Atos Origin with its deep business understanding of our market and strong knowledge of SAP and Siebel systems is the right company to help us achieve this.”
Through its UK based SAP Centre of Expertise for Consumer Packaged Goods, Atos Origin will provide strategic advice based on its ‘Maximize Manufacturing Together’ (MMT) approach to further improve Britvic’s infrastructure. This will help Britvic to better address critical business challenges, such as enabling the supply chain to prepare for the international growth and to ensure that it can continue to respond fast to peaks in demand for its products. For example, if there is a particular trade promotion in progress or indeed an unexpected sunny spell.
“Providing SAP expertise to the food and beverages market is a focus area for Atos Origin and we are delighted to now include Britvic, with it’s superb brand portfolio, in our list of clients,” said Paul Bray, head of Enterprise Sector at Atos Origin. “We are continually developing and trialling innovative solutions to ensure that all our clients get the maximum value and business benefit from their investment in SAP systems.”

Based on the MMT – “Maximize Manufacturing Together” Approach for the Food and Beverage Industry Atos Origin could demonstrate that they will be able to turn BRITVIC’s vision of a global SAP Business Suite Implementation into results. MMT is designed to help manufacturing companies consolidate infrastructure and align their ERP implementation with business goals while implementing world class pre-configured SAP solutions in a more efficient way to maximise operational effectiveness, product innovation and customer intimacy.
The SAP ERP Co-sourcing partnership will commence in the United Kingdom and Ireland in April 2008. This represents a very good example how MMT and local county based Practices and Competence Centres can work together successfully to win such challenging deal. Atos Origin is a culturally sensitive global company and we would wish to continuously explore ways in how we can maximize the long term business relationship to the benefit of both parties.
