Active Broadband Networks Releases Open Source IPDR/SP Collector and IPDR Re-Exporter

WEBWIRE

Boston, MA May 20, 2008 – Active Broadband Networks, a pioneering developer of Subscriber Service Management Systems based upon the emerging IPDR standards, announces the availability of the first Open Source IPDR/SP collector and IPDR Re-exporter for the Active Resource Manager.

This new collector adds IPDR/SP to the Active Resource Manager enabling dual protocol collection for both IPDR File Streaming and IPDR/SP. By offering dual protocol collection the Active Resource Manager delivers compatibility with all popular Cable Modem Termination Systems, and provides a migration path to DOCSIS® 3.0 advanced IPDR capabilities.

Additionally, Active Broadband Networks is announcing the initial availability of its IPDR Re-exporter. The re-exporter allows customers to deploy additional IPDR based systems for specific applications while maintaining a single and complete IPDR collection system connected directly to the CMTS. The Active Resource Manager re-exporter receives IPDR records from the CMTS, and in addition to processing and storing the collected records, re-exports records to downstream collectors. This functionality, in combination with the Active Resource Manager system and database API’s provides operators with the most open, flexible solution for deploying and leveraging IPDR applications.

“Active Broadband Networks continues to lead in the development of IPDR based Subscriber Service Management Systems for Cable System Operators”, said Adam Dunstan, President of Active Broadband Networks. “By leveraging our extensive experience in production networks, we will continue to increase our leadership position with further major software releases this year. The IPDR/SP collector and initial release of the re-exporter provide additional foundation for continuing development of the most scalable and functional IPDR Subscriber Service Management System.”.

The IPDR/SP Collector and Re-exporter are immediately available to our customers with current support agreements.
