Motorola iRadio® Goes ‘A Little Bit Country’ With a Dozen New Nashville Channels

SCHAUMBURG, Il. – 30 Nov. 2005 – Top CMA award winner Lee Ann Womack and several of country music’s biggest acts will soon be able to directly connect with their fans through their very own radio station on the Motorola iRadio® service. Today, Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) announced that Universal Music’s hottest Nashville artists including Womack, Trisha Yearwood, Shania Twain, Vince Gill, Terry Clark, George Strait, Gary Allan, Reba McEntire and more will launch individual channels on the forthcoming Motorola iRadio service.
The Motorola iRadio service is changing the very nature of radio by enabling a more personal connection between artists and their fans. The service will offer hundreds of pre-programmed, commercial-free music and talk channels and deliver a broad choice of radio stations covering virtually any genre, style, or theme of music or talk radio topic.
With today’s announcement, country music fans can soon listen to their favorite country music artist channels anywhere, anytime, directly from their iRadio-capable mobile phone. In addition to top hits, new releases, and deep cuts from the artist’s catalog, channels may also include up-to-the-minute news, concert information, and upcoming album details and promotions dedicated to the artist’s fans. Listeners will be able to purchase albums and concert tickets or respond to exclusive promotions simply by pressing a button on their phone or existing car stereo.
The Motorola iRadio service will give music lovers a personal, portable listening experience. Using high-speed Internet, Bluetooth® technology, and a mobile phone, the service will put an individual music experience on the one device you are never without: your mobile phone. Your favorite music and talk radio channels and personal music collection will follow you throughout the day — playing at home on a stereo, in your car on your existing car stereo, or through headphones attached to your mobile phone.
