“Basketball.” “Swimming.” “Marathon.” “Martial Arts.” “Weekend Golfer.”

Austin, Tx. - April 1, 2008 - Do these titles suggest a wide range of sports? If so, you will be pleased to explore the other selections of Adan Lerma’s unique poetic renderings.

Update: New eBook, “101 Sports Poems” from Adan Lerma celebrates nearly twenty years of positive sports poetry.  Available from Amazon Kindle Books.

The sports poems themselves are often written as experienced, first person, up close, with a direct physical sense of action. Occasionally, a strong stream of consciousness is expressed. Though most of Adan’s sports poetry is participatory based, he also includes humorous spectator takes, such as “Sports Fan & Wife.”

“Probably one of the better descriptions, I like, of why sports poetry appeals,” says Adan, “is in an essay by David Allan Evans called ’Poetry and Sport.’ He’s the Poet Laureate of South Dakota:”

Each of Adan’s poems includes an artist commentary; often with personal relevant information about each work.

Update: All available eBook titles, with links for further information and pages on Amazon Books and Google Books, are on Adan’s new eBook Page.
