Vicki Wellington Named Publisher Of Cosmogirl! Magazine


Vicki Wellington has been named publisher of CosmoGIRL! magazine, today announced Michael A. Clinton, executive vice president, chief marketing officer and publishing director of Hearst Magazines. Wellington was most recently the founding associate publisher of domino magazine. She will assume her new role on March 10 and will report to Clinton. Wellington succeeds Kristine Welker, who has been named vice president of sales and marketing of Hearst Magazines Digital Media.

“Vicki’s experience, passion and relationships within the advertising community make her a terrific choice to lead CosmoGIRL!,” said Clinton. “Kristine did an outstanding job over the past nine years building the CosmoGIRL! brand and I know that Vicki will continue to foster its growth.”

During her time at domino, where she started in 2004, Wellington helped the magazine garner several launch awards including placement on Adweek’s “10 Under 50” Hot List and Startup of the Year, Advertising Age’s A-List Launch of the Year and MIN’s Top Launch of ’05. From 1994 to 2004, Wellington worked at Self magazine as advertising director and then as associate publisher. During her time at Self, she helped create, execute and market integrated programs such as VH-1 Rock Hard Bodies and The Self Center. Prior to her time at Condé Nast, Wellington spent seven years at Rolling Stone, rising to the post of advertising director. She previously worked at Ms. and Laurence, Charles, Free & Lawson.
