MELBOURNE, Florida, November 21, 2005 — Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) today announced that its Government Communications Systems Division has achieved a Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI®) Maturity Level 3 rating. The Level 3 rating denotes superior process maturity within the division’s program management, engineering, quality assurance, and other disciplines, and achievement of this rating has become a competitive differentiator on many government programs.

“This marks a milestone achievement in our Commitment to Excellence program,” said Bob Henry, corporate senior VP and president of Harris Corporation’s Government Communications Systems Division. “The CMMI® Level 3 rating is a distinction that clearly demonstrates to our customers that we are fully committed to high-level process improvements that assure the delivery of superior product, system and service solutions.”

The CMMI® Level 3 rating was determined by an appraisal team led by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI), including two external representatives sponsored by Harris Government Communications Systems Division customers. The registered appraisal was performed on the division’s operations in Melbourne, Florida, against the CMMI® for Systems Engineering and Software Engineering (CMMI®-SE/SW) criteria. The appraisal measured process and product excellence using an integrated set of processes applied across the division’s functional organizations.
