"Great Decisions" Decides for Janson Media

January 25, 2008, Harrington Park, NJ... Janson Media today announced it has reached an agreement with Great Decisions Television and the Foreign Policy Association to distribute its highly regarded public television series, GREAT DECISIONS, to worldwide television, VOD, DVD/video, and new media markets. Now in its 22nd season on U.S. television, GREAT DECISIONS is the longest-running American television program devoted solely to international affairs and foreign policy.

The GREAT DECISIONS Television Series, now taped in High Definition, introduces eight new half-hour episodes each season to its loyal PBS viewership. Each show brings together experts on a specific topic, in order to examine all sides of a foreign policy issue. The series features the eight topics from the Great Decisions briefing book. In the current 2008 season, these include such debates as Exiting Iraq: Deadline for Democracy; Dangerous Dialogue: Talking with the Enemy; European Union at 50; Reexamining Russia: Waning War Machine?; The State of the U.S. Military; The Latin American Left; Out of Balance: U.S.-China Trade; and Philanthropy and the Rise of Global Giving.

GREAT DECISIONS is hosted by former CNN World Affairs Correspondent Ralph Begleiter. The 2008 season has already begun airing on 60 PBS broadcasters, including WNET in New York. Great Decisions (2008 season, 8 x 30’, as well as earlier seasons) was produced by the Foreign Policy Association, and is now available to worldwide television, VOD, DVD/video, and new media markets exclusively through Janson Media.

The Foreign Policy Association (FPA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring the American public to learn more about the world. Founded in 1918, FPA provides independent publications, programs and forums to increase public awareness of, and foster popular participation in, matters relating to those policy issues. Its board is comprised of leaders from business, the academy and international organizations who share a commitment to educating Americans about world issues.
