VeriFone Announces PCI-PED Approved MX860, Offering Touch-Enabled Widescreen Multimedia Display and Tactile Keypad

Newest Member of MX Solutions Line and New MX800 Series Peripherals Deliver Maximum Flexibility for Payments, Promotions and Customer Touch Points

New York, NY - January, 2008 - (NRF 2008, Booth #2631) – VeriFone Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: PAY) today announced the MX860, the newest member of the highly successful MX800 Series that provides retailers with multimedia capabilities in a secure payment system that now combines widescreen, video-game quality resolution and impact with tactile keys for disability compliance requirements.

The MX860 supports the same impressive feature set as existing MX800 Series products and is fully compatible with current software applications and certifications. The MX860 positions itself in the line between the payment optimized MX850 systems and the multi-media optimized MX870, blending features of both to create an uncompromised solution.

Along with new MX800 Series modules and options also announced today, the MX860 and other MX800 Series devices deliver a new level of flexibility with payments and promotions capabilities. The payment systems in the MX800 Series can be integrated with VeriFone’s PAYware Vision, the industry’s only solution for centrally managing all devices, content and signature capture solutions.

VeriFone announced several new modules and options for the MX800 Series, which transform the MX800 Series into a complete customer activated platform. The new MX800 Series modules include a printer, a scanner, a printer/scanner combination and Wi-Fi; also new is a Power over Ethernet option. All of the modules are field upgradeable and may be retrofit on existing deployed MX800 Series products. The MX800 Series products now also support an embedded browser for application development and user interface.

MX860 provides superior visual clarity and ultra-crisp on-screen graphics with an industry-leading 480x272 pixels screen resolution for brighter, clearer display and fast visual transitions for more eye-catching promotions.

The new modules announced today for the MX800 Series provide retailers the ability to deploy a virtually endless list of customer activated touch points within the store all based on a single platform. This provides retailers the ability to deploy multi-application customer service applications with their MX Solutions system, including price checking, product locators, loyalty enrollment, gift card purchase and reload, and instant credit applications.

The open architecture of the MX Solutions operating system and the common applications and hardware modules for the MX800 Series permit the easy integration and mix of payment devices to fit unique integrated retailer needs. The MX800 Series provides one platform of devices, software, applications and support to lower the cost of ownership, including initial investment, training, and support infrastructure.

The MX860 will be available in Q1 2008 and the additional modules will be available in Q2 2008.
