Acceptance of ITIL Version 3 Grows Rapidly

OTTSVILLE, PA, USA November 16, 2007 – With over 50 vendor exhibits and a large audience, the 16th Annual itSMF Conference was not only a success, but a milestone in the acceptance of ITIL v3. As an independent international forum for IT Service Management professionals, itSMF has had a leadership position in promulgating ITIL in general as well as the rewrite and launching of version 3 earlier this year.

ITIL is the Information Technology Infrastructure Library, a library of service-oriented guides for the operations of the IT department within any organization. Version 3 of ITIL has a number of significant changes, including reorganization of the books themselves and the addition of a service lifecycle perspective. Since ITIL implementations are underway world-wide, modifications can be sources of confusion even if problems that came up in version 2 implementations are corrected.

In addition to the six tracks of information delivered through conventional presentations, the seventh track experimented with innovative learning sessions through the use of simulation games.
