Rock band adds spice to China seafood conference

WEBWIRE

The Glitnir Seafood Rock Band, ‘White Sox’ - collection of world-famous rock musicians - will be performing at the opening dinner of the upcoming international seafood conference in Shanghai.

Guests lucky enough to be invited to this year’s Glitnir ‘Ocean of Opportunities’ seafood event in Shanghai in November will experience something rather unusual.

Nordic financial group Glitnir has over the last few years formed ‘The Glitnir Seafood Rock Band’ which has played at every Ocean of Opportunities event. This year the band members will be more internationally recognised than ever before, because in addition to American Seafoods CEO Mr. Bernt Bodal on bass guitar, guests will see legendary keyboard player Spike Edney and guitarist Jamie Moses from Queen as well as drummer Alan White who has played with world famous rock band ‘Yes’.

The lead singer of ‘White Sox’ will be Iceland’s best-known pop / rock singer Jonsi, who has been nominated ‘Vocalist of the Year’ at the Icelandic Music Awards.

The Seafood Band will be spicing up Glitnir’s pre-conference dinner on Sunday the 4th of November at a secret location in Shanghai. Glitnir will then host the Ocean of Opportunities global seafood conference and ‘think-tank’ at the Pudong Shangri-La Hotel on Monday the 5th of November. The leading seafood bank will deliver a special press briefing on the release of three international seafood reports which focus on China, Canada and Latin America.
Glitnir focuses on the seafood industry as one of three global niche sectors (renewable energy and offshore supply vessels are the other two). The Nordic financial group considers Iceland and Norway as its two home markets, but has operations in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, the UK, Luxembourg, Russia, USA, Canada and China.
