AT&T Government Solutions Wins Renewal Of Contract To Operate FEMA’s Network Operations Center
Four-year contract is valued at $8.9 million
VIENNA, Va. – AT&T Government Solutions has been awarded a four-year, $8.9 million contract to continue to operate the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) National Network Operations Center (NNOC). The GSA-schedule contract was awarded following a competitive bidding process.
For the past 16 years, AT&T Government Solutions has been involved in the design, installation, operation and management of the NNOC, which allows FEMA officials to remotely monitor, maintain and reconfigure its communications networks and the applications that run on them, as well as the associated IT equipment and infrastructure.
The NNOC is part of FEMA’s Mt. Weather Emergency Operations Center located in northern Virginia.
As part of the contract, AT&T Government Solutions IT specialists provide a range of networking and other duties, including program management, LAN and WAN configuration, video conferencing set up, arranging satellite communications, setting up call centers, installing PBX systems, providing help desk services and others. In addition, AT&T personnel are often deployed to disaster areas to help FEMA quickly establish disaster field offices and new call centers, which are then connected to FEMA’s networks by the NNOC. Some 34 AT&T Government Solutions employees were deployed to several disaster field offices and call centers around the country in the aftermath of Katrina.
