New Head of Global Strategic Marketing in BASF’s Agricultural Products division

Emmanuel Butstraen, currently Managing Director BASF Agricultural Products France, will take over Global Strategic Marketing as Group Vice President for the Agricultural Products division headquartered in Limburgerhof on 1 December 2005. He will succeed Mike Heinz, who as previously announced, will assume responsibility for the Agricultural Products division on the same date.

Butstraen has a degree in agricultural engineering and an MBA. He joined BASF in 1992, working for the sales department of Fine Chemicals in France. In 1999 he was sent to Limburgerhof as Marketing Director for Regional Business Unit Crop Protection Europe. Since 2001, he has headed the sales and production companies BASF Agro and BASF Agri in France, headquartered in Lyon.

Butstraen will be succeeded by Vincent Gros, Head of Marketing/Value Chain Management at BASF Agro SAS, Lyon. Gros, who holds a degree in agricultural engineering, joined BASF France in 1992. After several assignments in sales, he was appointed General Manager of the BASF Group company COMPO Horticulture et Jardin SA based in Paris. He has been in his current position at BASF Agro SAS since 2001.
