Young Broadcasting Selects Harris Broadcast OSi Software to Link Sales, Traffic and Research Operations
Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has entered into an agreement to provide its cutting-edge broadcast OSi™ sales, traffic and research software solutions suite to New York-based Young Broadcasting Inc, which owns 10 television stations and the national advertising firm Adam Young Inc. Young Broadcasting will deploy OSi-Traffic™ and OSi-AdConnections™, and extend Adam Young Inc.’s, use of RepLine® software systems to integrate and manage advertising sales and inventory — from sales initiation at the firm through spot advertising delivery at the television station.
“After a comprehensive study we chose the Harris OSi™ suite of products because their vision of tight integration matches Young Broadcasting’s business goals,” said Peter Grazioli, vice president of information technology and chief information officer at Young Broadcasting.
The combination of OSi-Traffic™ and OSi-AdConnections™ provides an end-to-end solution that allows Young Broadcasting to share information across traffic and sales, centralize reporting, and streamline the information gathering processes for both its traffic and sales operations. This integration of its traffic and sales databases provides Young Broadcasting with greater forecasting and research capabilities, in-depth inventory knowledge, powerful competitive analysis tools and enhanced sales opportunities. In addition, the ability of OSi-Traffic™ to accommodate new channels and advertising environments allows Young Broadcasting to view and track all advertising environments – and their revenue potential – across all of its stations and distribution channels.
