Executive to Oversee Diary and PPM Policies

Arbitron Inc. (NYSE: ARB) has announced today the promotion of Claudine Knisley to Director of Syndicated Standards and Analysis where she will manage Arbitron’s Portable People Meter™ (PPM™) and diary services’ policies and procedures — continuing to meet established standards for high-quality practices.

In this role, Knisley will oversee staff members responsible for implementing policies and procedures related to market definition, station-listening assignments and reporting as well as customer analyses. Leading her team, she will conduct customized data analyses that provide customer-focused services to local market clients, advertisers and agencies.

Knisley’s additional role in the company is as a liaison between internal work groups such as Sales/Marketing and Research and Operations, and external customers such as radio stations and advertisers, for all Arbitron’s local market syndicated services. This position allows Arbitron to ensure that each policy takes into consideration the needs of all segments of the marketplace.

“Claudine brings more than 20 years of diary experience in radio policies, procedures and analysis to Arbitron’s local market services. Her leadership is enabling clients to smoothly transition to electronic measurement,” said Jay Guyther, senior vice president, PPM ratings services, Arbitron Inc.

Knisley began her career at Arbitron in the marketing communications department. Soon after, Knisley was promoted into the radio policies and procedures department as a radio station information specialist where she began working directly with general managers, program directors and group managements handling customer service and station crediting and reporting. Throughout her career, she has received periodic promotions, increasing her responsibilities in other areas of diary policy and procedures and customer analyses and servicing.

Knisley holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Maryland in College Park.
