Former Red Cross Executive to lead Mindshare Interactive Campaigns’ Fundraising Practice

Washington, DC - Mindshare Interactive Campaigns is proud to announce the arrival of M. Sue Woodward, CFRE to direct its fundraising practice. With more than 24 years of experience, Sue will lead the team and its clients in online and offline development initiatives.

From 2002 to 2005, Sue was Director of Direct Response Fundraising at the National Headquarters of the American Red Cross, where she oversaw the largest amount of funds ever raised online, just over $775 million in support of Red Cross’ disaster response. She was also named by Fundraising Success Magazine as one of the “Top Women in Fundraising for 2006.”

After the Red Cross, Sue had her own consulting firm working with a variety of nonprofit clients including Children’s Defense Fund, City Harvest, ANERA, American Red Cross NHQ, and Habitat for Humanity International.

Prior to her employment at Red Cross, Sue worked for Lewis Direct, a nonprofit direct marketing arm of the Lewis Advertising Agency. While at Lewis Direct, she was senior creative strategist for Epilepsy Foundation, ANERA, ZPG and American Printing House for the Blind. Sue also provided strategic fundraising direction, tactics, copywriting and editing.

Her experience includes four years as Director of Membership and Development for a national environmental organization (Zero Population Growth) and 12 years as a professional for the Boy Scouts of America, both in the USA and the United Kingdom.

Sue’s expertise is in developing fully integrated fundraising programs for organizations, with particular emphasis on interactive direct response components. She is a guest lecturer for the graduate Direct Marketing program at George Washington University and she speaks regularly at conferences around the country and internationally.

Sue is a member of the Direct Marketing Association, Direct Marketing Association of Washington, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals, where she was a board member for AFP / DC and served on the AFP International Foundation President’s Committee. Sue is a Certified Fundraising Executive.
