NEW YORK - Raketu Communications Inc., the global Internet communications, information and entertainment company, has partnered with Emmy nominated animator John K., co-creator of The Ren & Stimpy Show, to develop the Raketu family. Based around a futuristic cartoon character called Raketeena, John K. worked with the marketing team to develop a cartoon sitcom family that showcases and explains the benefits of Raketu’s products and services, including voice over IP calling, ipTV, mobile VoIP, and IM/SMS.

“We have a unique position in the marketplace today in that we deliver multiple web-based communications and entertainment products from a single application,” said Greg Parker, president and CEO of Raketu. “The creative challenge was to showcase and communicate our broad service offering in a way that was easily accessible to consumers. John has helped us through animated characters to dramatize key elements of our product offering explaining them in a fun and entertaining way.”

“I have been hunting for a forward looking sponsor to work with for years,” said animator John K. “I have always wanted to work directly with a sponsor to produce my cartoons and have my stars pitch their products. This was the model that built television but has since been abandoned. The Internet is the wild frontier of communication and entertainment so I took my quest there. Raketu is all about pioneering new and better ways to get and share information. I have worked with Raketu on giving them an image and personality worthy of their product and it has been a fantastically creative and fun experience.”

Since launching the brand in September 2006, Raketu Communications has changed the way more than one million people throughout the world communicate. Raketu offers the first integrated ipTV and social networking service available to all consumers. Through Raketu users are able to watch videos and streaming TV from around the world while interacting with each other through Raketu’s peer-to-peer (p2p) communications service.

Raketu’s unique peer-to-peer (p2p) technology allows the highest quality VoIP calling and the highest call-completion without the security issues associated with supernodes and other traditional p2p technologies. Specifically, Raketu does not use a consumers’ computer for routing the communications of other users.

Raketu runs over any Internet connection. Anyone on the Internet with a Windows PC and a headset can start using Raketu immediately. Currently, all pre-paid customers of Raketu’s “RakOut” dial-out VoIP services enjoy free calling to over 40 countries. All calls to locations in these countries are free regardless of where they originate.

Raketu has been independently certified free of spyware, malware, adware and viruses by SoftPedia. Raketu currently has over one million users in over 250 countries around the world.
